Classically trained mezzo-soprano, Maria Damianou has sung in choirs and opera locally and abroad from the Klein, Carnegie Hall, St. Peter’s Basilica and more. Performed under the direction of Constance Chase, Michael Ciavaglia, David Fryling, David Ramael, Robyn Gangi, in repertoire including solos for the world premiere of Caritas Abundat, Vivaldi’s Magnificat, Mozart Missa Brevis, Tedesco’s Romancero Gitano, Die Fledermaus, Eugene Onegin, Marriage of Figaro, Carmina Burana to name a few. She has over 15 years of experience in liturgical music and currently performs as a cantor and soloist in the New England and Tri-State area. Maria is also a member of Music on the Hill and Connecticut Chamber Choir.
Maria has received many accolades for her quality of singing, her expressiveness and connection with listeners and musicians alike. Known to be easy going and enjoyable to work with, Maria is incredibly accommodating whenever needed. She is grateful to study with Donna Balson, Constance Chase, and Virginia Herrera Crilly.
